2009 개정 교육과정이 도입됨에 따라 창의적 체험활동과 진로 및 적성에 맞는 교육제공과 함께 디지털교과서 등장으로 교수-학습 환경에도 많은 변화가 일어나고 있다. 이에 따라 학교교육을 보완해 줄 수 있는 다양한 맞춤형 교육 콘텐츠에 대한 요구가 점차 증가하고 있는 한편, 사교육비 경감과 교육격차 해소 및 공교육 정상화에 대한 기대들도 점차 높아지고 있다. 이를 위해 EBS는 다양한 콘텐츠를 학교교육과 연계하여 사용할 수 있도록 테크놀로지 환경뿐만 아니라 다양한 교육콘텐츠 개발 및 관련 서비스 제공 등 다양한 분야에서 노력을 기울이고 있다. 이를 위한 노력의 하나로 학교 현장의 EBS 활용률 개선을 위해 2개년 계획으로 19개 EBS 시범학교를 지정 및 운영하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 EBS 시범학교 운영실태, 교사들이 인식한 EBS 시범학교의 효과성 및 운영개선 사항을 알아보기 위해 EBS 시범학교 운영 실무를 담당하는 교사 10명을 대상으로 심층면접을 실시하였다. 연구 결과로 첫째, EBS 시범학교 운영실태는 학교급에 따라 다양하게 운영되는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 교사들이 인식한 EBS 효과성이 학생과 교사차원에서 매우 긍정적으로 나타났다. 특히, 학생들의 학습동기, 자기주도학습능력 및 학력신장에 대한 변화에 대해 교사들의 긍정적 인식이 나타났으며, 이와 함께 교사간 협력 강화 및 전문성 신장 등 많은 변화가 나타났다. 셋째, 시범학교 운영개선을 위해서 시범학교, EBS, 시도교육청 등 관련된 3개 기관차원별로 상세한 개선 사항 요구가 있었다. 이를 바탕으로 EBS 시범학교 운영을 위한 시사점에 대해 논의하였다.
As new 2009 curriculum was introduced to schools, needs of various educational contents are increased such as creative activities, core competency related to career development, and technology integration using digital textbook. Educational Broadcasting System(EBS) has put effort on new technology, development of various educational contents, and providing services. However, the rate of EBS use in classroom was not increased. Therefore, EBS started to 19 EBS model schools from elementary to high school. The purpose of this study was analysis of operation status, investigation of perception of effectiveness of EBS model schools. and improvement of its management. 10 teachers were participated in the study and in-depth interview were conducted. As results, firstly, the patterns of the operation of EBS model schools were various. Secondly, teachers’ perception of EBS was positive. In specific, they perceived that students’ motivation, self-regulated learning ability, and development of academic skills were increased. To improve EBS model schools’ management, three major organizations’s efforts were involved; 1) EBS model schools, 2) EBS, and 3) Office of Education. Suggestions were discussed.
