Korea’s food service industry has not had training standards unlike other industries
because there are so many different jobs, and small businesses fail to implement
those programs. Therefore, it may be an important management to develop training
standards in order to improve the staffing levels and service quality. The study
explored training programs for Korea’s food service industry and conducted an
in-depth interview of experts for job analysis. The study is expected to be helpful to
enforce government policies because the training standards proposed in the study
meet the National Competency Standards. The study categorized Korea’s food
service industry and analyzed the jobs in order to develop the training programs for
the industry based to National Competency Standards. it is expected to contribute to
the development and implement of convergent training system for the industry that
seeks theoretical and practical knowledge.
