The purpose of this study is to explore the effect of Art Therapy on the problems behavioral of woman adolescents with intellectual disability experiencing sexual abuse. The participant in the study was a 13 year-old woman adolescents with intellectual disability experiencing sexual abuse, and she participated in Art Therapy with sixteen sessions once a week from
August 2007 to January 2008. Data collected in this study was analyzed with assessment tools(evaluation instruments) and behavior observation. Korea Children Behavioral checklist(K-CBCL) and House-Tree-Person(HTP) were used as assessment tools in order to examine the change of woman adolescents problems behavioral problems, and Pre- and Post-tests to
indicate the change before and after the program. With this testing, each a session observation along with an observation of social worker. Also, it was observed that continuing a provement of a problem after an end of art therapy. The results are as follows.
First, regarding sub-categories of K-CBCL for children and adolescents, reduced are behavioral problems internalizing of withdrawl, depression/anxiety and behavioral problems externalizing of delinquent, aggression. Therefore, art therapy shows a general reduction in behavioral problems in general. as to the HTP test, she had accepted the event in the
past, relaxed the internal and been out of a suppression violence and attention deficit. So she had been stable.
Second, this study examined observed behaviors, and found that try to read one\'s mind and excessive depend on social worker and so on were disappeared, and that she change take an positive looks of her problems.
Also, as a result of observation social worker, explicit sex, goods stolen and don\'t regret and so on were disappeared in welfare facilities.
Third, it was recognized that a improvement of a problem is continuing by interview with social worker after an end of art therapy. The study shows that art therapy has confirm mediation strategy with positive effects on improving behavioral problems of woman adolescents
with intellectual disability experiencing sexual abuse.
