This study looks into executive function of ADHD from three perspectives through documentary study. First, historical aspect was dealt with by looking at studies related with neuropsychology that is the basis for the study on executive function of ADHD: second, the features of executive function of ADHD were looked into through academic approach: and lastly, Korea's recent direction of study on executive function of ADHD examined.
This study was carried out by collecting domestic and foreign precedent studies related to executive function, and documentary analysis and study was done, According to the result of the study, firstly, the study on executive function of ADHD began by neuropsychologists, but recently it is carried out by special-educators. Secondly, executive function of ADHD shows flaws in four aspects of attention control region, and goal planning region, information processing region, cognitive flexibility region, and goal planning region. It was found that these flaws in executive function continue until one becomes an adult.
Also, it had a close relationship with learning ability. Lastly the recent direction of study on executive function of ADHD is still at primary level, seeing from the fact that there are only about twelve studies from 2000 to the present in Korea. From this, it shows the need for academic understanding of executive function of ADHD, and continuous effort in studies.
