본 연구는 동료들 간의 상호작용에 어려움이 있는 만 5세 유아 7명을 대상으로 독서치료 프로그램을 실시하여 그림책에 대한 유아의 반응변화와 유아의 사회적 유능감을 살펴보았다. 사회적 유능감은 사전․사후․추후 검사 총 3회 반복측정을 하였다. 사전․사후는 t-test를 통하여 프로그램 효과차이를 분석하였고, 경향분석을 통하여 시간의 흐름에 따른 독서치료의 효과를 분석하였다. 유아의 변화에 대한 교사인터뷰는 유형적 분석과 해석적 분석을 통하여 질적 분석하였다. 본 연구결과는 첫째, 그림책에 대한 유아의 반응은 초기에는 그림책에 나타난 그림을 그대로 읽는 수준에서 점차 의도를 파악해 가고, 주인공과의 동일시를 통해 자신의 문제를 발견하는 수준으로 발달해 가는 모습을 보였다. 둘째, 발달적 독서치료 프로그램은 유아의 사회적 유능감을 향상시키는 것으로 나타났다. 사전검사 이후 발달적 독서치료 프로그램을 실시하는 동안 유아의 사회적 유능감이 증가하였으나, 프로그램 중단 이후 추후검사에서는 향상되지 않았다. 셋째, 교사들은 인터뷰에서 독서치료 프로그램 후 유아들이 또래 간 적응적인 상호작용의 변화와 언어 표현력 향상, 긍정적인 정서, 그림책에 대한 관심이 높아졌다고 답하였다.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the response of children on picture book and to improve the effects of developmental bibliotherapy program. The subjects of this study were seven 5 years old children and two teachers taking care of them in early childhood settings. The instruments used to assess social competence was Lee, Hey-Won(2005)'s social competence inventory and teachers 'interview- data by qualitative research. The result of this study could be summarized as follows. First, developmental bibliotherapy program had an positive effect on the response of children about picture book such as to improve the capacity to express their opinion freely and self-understanding. Second, developmental bibliotherapy program improved young children's social competence, especially, self regulation and understanding social knowledge. Third, teachers responded that as a result of bibliotherapy program, the subjects showed acceptable interaction with peers, verbal expression, positive emotion and interest in picture books.
