본 연구는 장애유아의 초등학교 전이과정에 대한 부모 인식 조사이다. 전이과정에서 아동의 기술 영역 및 가족, 학교, 유아교육기관간 협력에 대한 중요도와 전이과정에서 정보를 제공 받은 경험 그리고 전이과정에서 취학유예를 하게 되는 이유를 서울과 안산지역의 장애아동 부모 중 전이 시기 부모 68명과 전이 이후 시기 부모 96명의 총 164명을 대상으로 실시되었다. 연구결과 초등학교로 전이과정 시 아동 기술 영역의 중요도에 대해 전이 시기의 부모는 ‘의사소통’을, 전이 이후 시기의 부모는 ‘자조기술’을 가장 중요하게 인식하고 양쪽 집단 모두에서 ‘학업기술’의 중요성을 가장 낮게 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 전이과정 시 가족, 학교, 유아교육기관간 협력에 대한 중요도에서는 모든 항목이 ‘중요하다’로 나타났으나, 전이 이후 시기의 부모만을 대상으로 한 전이과정에서 정보를 제공 받은 경험은 평균적으로 ‘받지 못했다’로 나타났다. 전이과정에서 어려움을 겪을 때 부모 164명 중 90명이 취학유예를 고려하였으며, 취학유예 결정인으로는 부모가 97.2%로 높은 비율을 보였다. 연구의 결과를 통해서 장애유아의 초등학교 전이과정에 대한 각각의 역할과 협력을 통한 직접적인 체계적인 정보제공프로그램과 부모교육 연결되어야 함을 알 수 있었다.
The purpose of this study was to examine the awareness of parents about the transition process of preschoolers with disabilities from their home or early childhood institutions to elementary schools. The subjects in the current study were 164 parents of children with disabilities in Seoul and Ansan areas. After a survey was conducted, the collected data were analyzed with SPSS ver.14.0. The major findings of the current study were as follows: Every kind of children's skills during the transition process was considered as important issues, but either of the two groups didn't value 'learning skills' much compared to other skills. Among the factors of collaboration, 'sharing information about children with teachers' was most accentuated. Those parents accounted for more than 50 percent, and it led to delay of elementary school enrollment.
