The purpose of this study is to verify and analyze the effects of art therapy applied games on the learning concentration of a slow learner. The subject for this study was a 6th grade girl who was a slow learner. This program lasted from June, 2009 to July, 2009, twice a week for 9 sessions. To apply art therapy, LCIP(Learning Concentration Improvement Program) was analyzed, amended and developed. This art therapy program was applied by using art therapy, game activities, and other techniques to improve learning concentration. First, to verify the effects of art therapy applied games on learning concentration, a preliminary test was compared with a post test through LCT(Learning Concentration Test). Second, the state of learning concentration through the linear measure and a point of observation of an art therapist on the slow learner was compared. The conclusion of research are as follows; As the results of LCT, there were the positive changes from low levels to high levels of concentration, learning interest, and learning attitude.
All elements had positive changes in percentage. Second, the concentration throughout the time of art therapy and the state of learning concentration throughout the linear measure about her school life had the positive changes from low level to high level. These results confirmed that art therapy applied games were effective on the slow learner when using the art therapy, game activities, and other the techniques to improve learning concentration. However, this study has a problem of generalization, so further group studies through art therapy and studies on analyzing on elements of learning concentration are needed.
