"The purpose of this study was to develop a group therapy program based on the theory and skills of Transactional Analysis(TA) and to test the efficacy of the TA group therapy program which can enhance the countertransference management skills of novice therapists. The study was conducted to accomplish these goals to participants who were studying clinical and counseling psychology at Graduate school. The program consists of 8 modules of 90 minutes. At post-treatment compared to pre-treatment, significant improvements occurred in positive countertransference behaviors, self-insight, self-integration and conceptualizing skills. These results suggest that the TA group therapy can improve countertransference management skills of novice therapists. The limitations and applications of TA group therapy program were discussed.
