본 연구에서는 부모의 공감과 아동의 또래관계 및 정서조절능력 간의 관계를 구체적으로 밝히고, 부모의 공감과 아동의 또래관계 간의 관계에서 아동의 정서조절능력이 매개역할을 하는지 연구하고자 했다. 이를 위해 초등학교 5, 6학년 아동 338명과 그들의 부모 338쌍을 대상으로 부모 공감, 아동의 또래관계 및 정서조절능력을 측정하였다. 연구 결과, 부모의 공감은 아동의 또래관계 및 정서조절능력과 유의미한 관계가 있으며, 부모의 공감을 비교해서 살펴본 결과 아버지의 공감과 어머니의 공감에 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 부모의 공감과 아동의 또래관계 간의 관계에서 아동의 정서조절능력이 부분매개와 완전매개 역할을 하는 것을 확인하였다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점을 논의하였다.
This study is aimed at inquiring into what relationship of parental empathy has on a child\'s peer relationship and emotion regulation. In addition, this study intended to look into whether there exists a mediating effect of a child\'s emotion regulation in the relationships between parental empathy and a child\'s peer relationship. This research selected 338 school children from grade 5 to 6 of the two elementary schools located in Seoul and their parents 338 couples as its objects of study. The research results are summarized as follows. First, parental empathy was significant related to child\'s peer relationship and emotion regulation. Secondly, child\'s adaptive, maladaptive emotion regulation played a partial or perfect mediating role in the relations between a parental empathy and a child\'s positive and negative peer relationship. Finally, the implications and limitation of this study were discussed.
