The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of mothers play beliefs and rearing attitudes on peer play interactions between young children and infants, around aged three to six, from 11 of the children education institutions. Through, the purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of mothers play beliefs and parenting attitudes on peer play interactions which can predict the development young social competence. In order to measure the modified PPBS (The Parent Play Beliefs Scale) and the PIPPS (Penn Interactive Peer Play Scale) for measuring the mothers play beliefs and play interactions, the Schaefer (1959) Materal Behavior Research Instrument of the modified survey was used.
The results of this study are different from those of the previous study, in which the mother s play belief is an important variable in the play interaction between infants and toddlers. The mother s rearing attitude is more important than playful belief of mother in play interaction. In the present study, peer-play interactions were conducted for aged 3 years and older. However, since early childhood education institutions were experienced due to the change of awareness of childcare support and childcare support. It is meaningful to research the peer play of a two-year-old in the scope.
