This study was conducted with the goal of developing a new art museum education program for elementary school students. Specifically, it will correlate elementary school art curriculums by displaying art collections in correlation to textbook materials in a digital, gamified format. Gamification refers to the development of new content by adding elements of a game such as stories, missions, and rewards to non-game content, and is used in various fields. The digital art museum education program applies the concept of gamification and is designed to provide participating children with internal motivation through self-directed learning and immersion so that they could have fun and learn in the museum at the same time. In addition, rather than sharing fragmentary information of artworks, the newly developed program provides various activities and hints in order to complete various missions. After the completion of the program, the program is established so that the art museum educator works in collaboration with the schoolteacher by sharing the results of the game in order to guide post-learning. The study aims to develop a digital art museum education program that can reconcile the basic values that art museum education seeks to pursue - the essential goals of art identity, emotion, and visual communication, rather than having it merely be an interest-oriented gamification approach.
