This study examines educational programs and teaching and learning methods used in imparting the concept and algorithm of artificial intelligence to beginners. We employed the advance organizer model as an effective teaching and learning method for learners who are new to artificial intelligence and developed an AI education program that incorporates theory and practice. The educational content was developed into a total of 13 session programs of two hours each. We applied the developed educational program to students who did not have artificial intelligence learning experience in university liberal arts courses. The research subjects were divided into 33 and 34 students in the experimental and control groups, respectively, and the program was applied during a 12-week lecture. We analyzed the effect by conducting a corresponding sample t-test and independent sample t-test of the effectiveness of the development program. As a result, the experimental group indicated high scores in AI awareness and AI learning achievement and showed significant results in comparison with the control group, proving the effectiveness of this study.
