This study intended to verify the structural relationships among emotion coaching of middle school students’ parents, school adaptation, and emotional intelligence. This study was conducted on 350 middle school students attending two schools in Gyeongnam. SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 21.0 wrer used for Pearson correlation analysis and structural equation model verification. As a result, the emotion coaching of parents showed significant positive correlation with emotional intelligence and school adaptation. Emotional intelligence was also positively correlated. The emotional intelligence partially mediated between emotion coaching and school adaptation. Based on the results, methods to improve emotion coaching of parents and emotional intelligence to enhance school adaptation of adolescents. Also, the importance of parents education and the limitations of this study were discussed.
