본 연구는 가족기능과 대학생의 우울 간의 관계에서 자존감과 영성이 중재역할을 하는지 확인해 보고자 수행하였다. 연구의 참여자는 K도와 D시에 소재하는 2개 대학교의 1, 2, 3, 4학년 남녀 대학생 624명(남 373명, 여 251명)이었다. 이들을 대상으로 가족응집성 및 가족적응성 척도, 우울증 척도, 자존감 척도, 영적 안녕 척도를 실시하였다. 가족기능과 대학생의 우울과의 관계에서 자존감과 영성의 조절효과를 알아보기 위해 SPSS 21.0을 이용하여 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같았다. 첫째, 자존감은 대학생 가족기능과 우울과의 관계에서 조절효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 영성은 대학생 가족기능과 우울과의 관계에서 조절효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 연구 결과는 환경적 요소인 가족기능의 문제로 우울한 대학생의 우울수준을 낮추기 위해서는 대학생 개인의 자존감과 영성 수준을 높이는 것이 효과적임을 시사한다.
The purpose of this study was to examine the moderating effects of self–esteem and spirituality in the relation between family function and depression in university students. Participants of the study were 624 university students. The measures included the Beck Depression Inventory, Family Cohesion and Adaptability Evaluation Scale, Self–Esteem Scale, and Spiritual Well–Bing Scale for university students. The data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0. Hierarchical regression analysis was conducted to examine the moderating effects of self–esteem and spirituality in the relation between family function and depression in university students. Results of this study were as follows. Frist, self–esteem had a significant moderating effect in the relation between family function and depression. Second, spirituality showed a significant moderating effect in the relation between family function and depression. These results suggest that efforts are needed to improve university students’ self–esteem and spirituality in order to prevent their depressive caused by family function.
