본고는 기독(목회)상담의 정체성이 영적 돌봄 사역이란 개념을 환기시키며, 전인적건강과 치유를 목표로 기독교 영성적 접근을 상담사역에 적극적으로 수용해야 한다는 전제로부터 출발한다. 인간이 영적인 존재라는 사실을 전제로, 이 소고는 기독교영성을, 하나님과의 관계가 전인격적 영역에서 실현되며 경험되는 모든 방식과 형태에 관한 총체적인 것이라 정의한다. 기독교 영성이 형성되는 방식의 보편성과 특수성을 탐구하면서, 임재와 신비, 그리고 만남에 대한 영적 의미를 기독(목회)상담의 영성 형성으로 제시하였다. 기독교 영성수련에 필수적 방법으로 관상기도를 그본질적 특징들과 함께 기술하였으며, 마지막으로 기독교 영성을 지향하는 상담의기초적 단계로 거룩한/관상적 경청의 영적인 의미와 영성전통적 이해를 소개하면서, 전인적 치유와 영적 성장을 지향하는 기독(목회)상담이 어떤 방식으로 영성 형성을구비할 수 있는지에 대한 기초적인 담론을 제시하였다. 기독(목회)상담 상황에서 영성 형성과의 연관성을 최초로 탐구하였다는 데 본고의 학문적 의미를 찾을 수 있을것이며, 앞으로 논의될 기독(목회)상담과 영성지도 간의 건설적인 담론과 확장된 토의에 기초적 토대를 놓았다는 데 이 연구의 기여 가능성을 찾을 수 있을 것이다.
This research begins with the primary presupposition that the Christian spirituality must be employed in counseling context for holistic healing and wellbeing revoking spiritual care as its intrinsic nature. It defines spirituality as holistic and integrating components in which the intimate relationship with God is experienced and realized in every aspects of human beings. Scrutinizing both aspects of generality and particularity of spirituality, the spiritual implication of Presence, mystery and encounters in practicing counseling is unfolded and contemplative prayer is introduced as essential vehicle for spiritual formation in Christian counseling. Lastly, it suggests the contemplative listening skills as foundational threshold to establish the essence of practice of Christian counseling. The contribution of this research would be discovered in the initial academic endeavor to delineate spiritual formation in Christian counseling and it sets up the preliminary environment to construct the discourse between Christian counseling and spiritual direction and its integrating form, Christian spiritual counseling.
