본 연구는 예비 초등교사들을 대상으로 하는 기존의 수학교구 실습 강좌를 디지털 수학 교구 중심으로 재구성하고, 미국 수학교육 전문가와의 국제 협력 수업을 연계하여 개선 운영 사례를 분석하면서 그 과정에서 드러난 예비 초등교사의 수학교육에서의 디지털 역량을 탐색하였다. 수도권 G대학교 예비 초등교사들에게 Flipped Learning 방식으로 운영하면서 다양한 교수 전략과 디지털 교구를 접목하였다. 수학 교과 수업안 설계, 실습 활동, 자기 평가 결과물 등을 분석을 통해, 예비 초등교사들은 디지털 교구 및 생성형 AI를 활용한 수업 설계, 수학적 오개념 분석력, 문화 감수성 측면에서 실질적인 성장을 보였다. 이러한 결과는 AI 디지털교과서 (AIDT) 시대에 대비한 국제 협력의 실천적 시사점을 제공한다.
This study explores an international collaboration focused on enhancing digital mathematics instruction for preservice elementary teachers. Existing instructional materials from mathematics methods courses were restructured to incorporate mathematics virtual manipulatives and AI tools into collaborative lesson activities with mathematics education experts in the United States. A lesson case analysis was conducted to examine how preservice teachers developed digital competencies throughout this process. The study took place at a university in the Seoul metropolitan area and employed a flipped learning approach, integrating a range of instructional strategies and digital resources. Data sources included mathematics lesson plans, hands-on teaching activ ities, and participants’ self-assessment reflections. Findings revealed that preservice teachers demonstrated significant growth in designing mathematics lessons that effectively incorporated virtual manipulatives and generative AI, addressed mathematical misconceptions, and integrated cultural awareness into problem contexts. These outcomes offer practical insights for teacher preparation in the context of emerging AI-based digital textbooks and globalized mathematics education.
