본 연구는 실용음악과 진학 예정자를 대상으로 전문대학과 전공대학의 명칭 혼용에 대한 인식과 제도적 이해 수준을 분석하였다. 144명을 대상으로 사전-사후 설계의 온라인 설문을 실시하여 제도 인식이 진학 결정에 미치는 영향을 검증하였다. 연구 결과, 응답자의 절반 이상이 두 기관의 법적 근거와 제도적 차이를 정확히 인지하지 못하였으며, 66%가 명칭으로 인한 혼동을 경험하였다. 대학 선택 시 입시 경쟁률이 높은 순으로 선호하는 경향이 뚜렷했으며, ‘예술대학’이라는 명칭 자체가 제도적 차이와 무관하게 대학 선택에 상당한 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 제도적 차이 정보 제공 후 65.3%가 진학 결정이 달라질 수 있다고 응답하여 정확한 정보 제공의 중요성이 확인되었다. 본 연구는 명칭 혼용 문제를 실증적으로 규명하고, 정보 투명성 제고 및 전공대학의 차별화 전략을 제시하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
This study analyzed prospective applied music students' perceptions of naming confusion and institutional understanding between junior colleges and vocational colleges. An online survey with a pre-post design was conducted with 144 participants to examine how institutional awareness influences college decisions. Results showed that over half of the respondents did not accurately recognize the legal foundations and institutional differences between the two types of institutions, and 66% experienced confusion due to naming similarities. Students showed a clear preference for institutions with higher admission competition rates, and the term ‘arts college’ itself significantly influenced college choice regardless of institutional differences. After providing information about institutional differences, 65.3% of respondents indicated that their college decisions could change, confirming the importance of accurate information provision. This study is significant in that it empirically identifies the structural problem of naming confusion and proposes strategies for information transparency enhancement and differentiation of vocational colleges.
