This study adapted and validated a Korean version of the Dispositions toward Scientific Uncertainty Navigation (DSUN) scale, originally developed for secondary school students in the United States, for use in the Korean secondary education context. The original scale was translated into Korean and reviewed by experts for content validity. The adapted instrument was then administered to ninth-grade students, and the resulting data were analyzed to examine validity evidence regarding the scale’s content and internal structure. Expert review provided evidence regarding item relevance to the construct, clarity and semantic equivalence of the translated wording, grade-level appropriateness, and cultural relevance. Confirmatory factor analysis further indicated that the adapted five-factor model functioned adequately with data from Korean middle school students, and model evaluation using dynamic fit indices provided additional evidence for the scale’s internal structure. Based on these findings, this study presents a Korean version of the DSUN scale suitable for use in Korean educational settings. The study contributes a foundational instrument for assessing students’ DSUN in ways that are appropriate to the Korean language and school context, and the adapted scale may serve as a useful basis for developing instructional strategies that support students’ navigation of scientific uncertainty.
