Objective: This study compared the perceived work environment, intention to stay, and resilience of infant teachers with and without children in Korea, focusing on the moderating effects of resilience.
Methods: The participants were 260 infant teachers in Korea: 114 with children and 146 without. The moderating effects were examined using hierarchical regression after controlling for the control variables.
Results: The results showed that perceived work environment and resilience were positively and not significantly related to intention to stay, respectively, among infant teachers with children. Perceived work environment and resilience were positively related to intention to stay among infant teachers who did not have children. Resilience had a moderating effect on infant teachers without children.
Conclusions: Differences existed in how perceived work environment and resilience influenced intention to stay, particularly the moderating effect of resilience, depending on whether the teachers had children. These results can be used to develop intention-to-stay intervention programs for infant teachers.
