The purpose of this study was to examine the interaction effects between academic self-efficacy and gender
on elementary pre-service teacher's perceived stress of practical class in physical education. The subjects of
this study were 720 students who enrolled to University of Education located in central region. Cluster
analysis was conducted to classify to subjects into 3 group depend on academic self-efficacy level.
Independent t-test and two-way ANOVA analysis were conducted to test hypotheses. The results of this study
were as follows: First, female students stress level was higher than male students on the learning content, the
worry about injury, the method of teaching, the attitude of teaching. Second, the interaction effect between
academic self-efficacy and gender on perceived stress to elementary pre-service teacher was significant.
Specifically, when academic self-efficacy level was high, male students's stress level was lower than female
students on the learning content, the worry about injury, the method of teaching. Meanwhile, when academic
self-efficacy level was low, there were no statistical difference on stress level between male and female except
the learning content. Implications, limitations and future research direction are discussed.
