This study focused on the effect of Sandtray Therapy on a child with an ADHD disposition. I worked with an 8 year old male who was diagnosed with ADHD. After adopting Sandtray Therapy, the level of his hyperactivity and carelessness was found to be reduced in a quantitative investigation. I also observed meaningful changes such as a decrease in hyperactivity, aggression and carelessnessin a qualitative investigation. The child focused on work for over 40 minutes in the every session, even though he talked a lot, and showed positive changes in the level of his aggression. Instances of the fighting with other children were reduced because he had enough opportunities to express his aggression in therapeutic sessions. The child had a careless attitude at the start of therapy, thus he could not focus the therapist’s instructions and on the activities which were given to him in the session. After the use of Sandtray Therapy, the child could focus on his work and finish it. He also showed attentive listening to the therapist’s instruction. From these results, I could confirm that Sandtray Therapy was effective for the child with an ADHD disposition.
