The aim of this study is to develop Korean Version Evaluation Criteria for KFD(Kinetic Family Drawing).
The number of subjects chosen for this study was 546 elementary school students in 5th and 6th grades
from Seoul and 6 metropolitan cities in Korea. The assessment instruments included in the study were the
family strength scale and KFD. Data analysis was Person’s correlation analysis. The results of this study
were as follows. First, this study was conducted by a comprehensive review of the scoring methods of
KFD, studied so far in Korea. By taking Burns’s quantifying(1982) as a basis of the evaluation criteria, and
studying the previous studies published in Korea, 38 assessment criteria to evaluate KFD were devised.
Second, the finalized selections of the KFD evaluation criteria were composed as 5 point Likert scale. Third,
this study confirmed the 5 point Likert scale's inter- item consistency. The Korean Version Kinetic Family
Drawing Evaluation Criteria incorporated final 27 assessment criteria. The 27 assessment criteria include
activity levels of the father and self, cooperative mom, cooperative dad, cooperative self, nurturing father,
nurturing self, interaction, eye of father, eye of mother, eye of self, face completion of father, face
completion of mother, face completion of self, facial expression of father, facial expression of mother, facial
expression of self, size of the father, size of the mother, size of the self, body completion of father, figures
orientation, distance from self to father, distance from self to mother, orientation father and mother,
orientation father and self, orientation mother and self.
