The new paradigm of the 21st century education explores a wide range of
possibilities that can foster scientific creativity and artistic sensibility. As the
convergence of science and arts, this study suggests efficient science-arts
strategy through advanced researches, related cases, educational environment.
The US education policy known as 'STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering,
Mathematics)' is gradually changing 'STEAM(Science, Technology, Engineering,
Arts, Mathematics)' that emphasis arts' creativity and emotion. And various
studies are being announced in local government and research organization. The
results of analysis in Journal of KASE(The Korean Association for Science
Education) and Journal of KESES(The Korean Society of Elementary Science
Education), we discovered that the volumes of theses related science and arts
were 31 volumes. However, theses of fine arts were only 6 volumes except
liberal arts part. As the effective method of convergence related science and
arts, we suggested understanding of various artistic techniques, teachinglearning
strategy based on artistic contents, approach to science and arts using
IT, and arts techniques as emotional experience. Furthermore, there is a need to
be announced a various forms of science-arts convergence strategy.
