본 연구는 통합교과접근의 한 방법으로서의 신체표현활동중심 교수가 시각장애아동의 의태어 활용력과 신체 표현력 향상에 미치는 효과를 검증하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 초등부 2학년 시각장애아동 여학생 3명을 대상으로 의태어 지도를 위하여 전통적인 언어중심 중재와 신체표현활동중심 프로그램을 사용한 중재를 교대로 실시하는 단일대상 교대중재설계를 이용하였다. 본 연구의 결과와 논의를 거쳐 도출한 결론은 다음과 같다. 언어중심 중재와 신체표현 활동중심 중재를 적용한 의태어 교육은 기초선 단계와 비교하여 의태어 활용력을 향상시켰으나 두 프로그램 간의 효과의 차이는 크지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 신체 표현력은 두 중재 모두 기초선과 비교하여 향상된 결과가 나타났으며, 신체표현활동중심 중재가 언어중심 중재보다 신체 표현력 향상에 더 효과적으로 나타났다. 결론적으로, 시각장애학생을 대상으로 지속적인 신체표현활동 중심 중재를 적용하여 통합교과접근으로 의태어 교육을 실시하는 것이 의태어 활용력과 신체 표현력을 모두 향상시킬 수 있는 효과적 중재라 할 수 있다.
The purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of physical expression activities using instruction of non-categorical subjects on improvement of abilities to use mimetic words and physical expressions for students with visual impairment. In an alternating treatments design, 3 female students with visual impairment were assigned to mimetic word classes for traditional Koran language instruction and physical expression activity instruction.. The results of this study showed that there were not significant differences between two treatments whereas both of traditional Koran language instruction and physical expression activity instruction improved the ability in using mimetic word compared to baseline. However Physical expression increased significantly greater in physical expression activities instruction, as compared with traditional Korean language instruction. Therefore, physical expression activity program using instruction of non-categorical subjects could be recommended as an effective instruction to improve the ability physical expression for students with visual impairment.
