본 연구에서는 초등학교 1학년을 중심으로 수감각을 발달시키기 위한 학습 프로그램을 개발하고자 하였다. 본 수감각 발달 학습 프로그램의 내용 요소는 1) 수의 의미 이해 2) 수관계 탐구 3) 수의 상대적 인 크기 이해 4) 연산의 상대적인 효과 인식 5) 일상적인 대상과 상황을 측정하기 위한 기준 개발 등이었 다. 이를 토대로 개발된 수감각 발달 학습 프로그램은 학습 활동으로는 구체물 활동, 시각화 활동, 신체적 활동, 추리 활동 등이 활용되었고, 교수전략으로는 1) 의미있는 활동 제공하기 2) 선수 학습의 기초 위에 서 시작하기 3) 질문을 통해 문제해결 과정에 대한 사고를 촉진하기 4) 조작적인 활동 포함하기 5) 상식 과 직관의 사용을 고무하기 6) 다양한 방법으로 문제해결에 있어서 수에 대한 직관력 평가하기 등이 사용 되었다. 본 프로그램의 적용 효과를 알아보기 위하여 프로그램 실시 전과 실시 후에 수감각 능력 평가가 이루어졌고 아동의 학습참여도를 알아보기 위하여는 교사에 의한질적 관찰 및 체크리스트가 사용되었다. 수감각 능력평가지를 통해 각 집단별로 사전 사후의 향상정도가 통계적으로 유의미한가를 알아보기 위하 여 t검증을 실시하였고, 그 결과, 수감각 발달에 본 프로그램이 효과가 있는 것으로 드러났다.
The purpose of this study is to develop and implement an alternative elementary mathematics program to enhance number sense. The program consisting of five elements such as understanding of the meanings of number, understanding of the relationships of numbers, understanding of the relative magnitude of numbers, understanding of the relationships of operations, developing the reference for measurement was developed. In order to test the effectiveness of the developed program, the 10 lessons based on the five elements were implemented in a 1st grade class as an experimental group during the second semester. For the comparison group the ordinary lesson based on the national mathematics curriculum was implemented during the same period. The tests for number sense were developed and used for the pre and post test. T-test was used to testify that the effect of the program is statistically significant. The results of the test showed that the experimental group progressed significantly in the number sense, but the comparison group did not.
