This study focused on investigating the theater education which has been dramatically growing in the
Korean society over 10 years.
To keep pace with the growth in the concerned field, it is required to have the department of
theater and film of every quickly developed college associated with prior educational institutes (including
arts high schools and other theater educational agencies). This way, it is expected not only to reduce
learners' confusion about the field but also to maximize the educational effects on the learners. Considering
this, arts curriculums of 2007 and 2011 were analyzed in this study.
In addition, in order to have a connection between the college education and the prior institutional
education, it is also urgently necessary for the two parties not only to secure common texts for universal
definition establishment but also to have a proper communication with each other.
Through such exchanges, the learners would be more capable of recreating culture and arts, enhancing
the problem-solving ability, the creativity, the critical thinking ability and the imagination as they would
not limit themselves only to interpreting and reproducing. As the learners improve such capabilities the
above, they will eventually contribute themselves to the national competitiveness improvement, working on
the self-improvement and restructuring of new meanings.
