Purpose: This study aimed to indicate multicultural awareness and multicultural education of nursing students and to offer basic data to develop multicultural programs in clinical places. Methods: The study was conducted on 412 nursing students living in N city and G city, Junra-do. The data were corrected using SPSS-WIN 18.0 and analyzed through descriptive analysis, independent t-test and Pearson correlation. Results: Multicultural awareness of nursing students was significantly lower in participants of multicultural experience than non-experience(t=3.45, p=.001). Participants thinking needs for multicultural education were significantly higher than not requiring for multicultural education(t=4.36, p<.001). There was a positive correlation between degree of recognition and interests in socialㆍeconomic adaptiveness(r=-.20, p<.001), and negative correlations were showed between degree of understanding and recognition(r=-.20, p<.001) and between degree of understanding and interests in socialㆍeconomic adaptiveness(r=-.24, p<.001). Conclusion: The higher multicultural awareness related to both multicultural experience and needs for multicultural education. Additionally, the higher interests in socialㆍeconomic adaptiveness of multicultural families related to multicultural awareness.
