The purpose of this study was to analyze nursery school teachers’ recognition of the
necessity and difficulty of child care education, and to provide a plan on child care education
in nursery schools. For this purpose, ten nursery school teachers who worked in G province
were selected and interviewed.
The results of analysis on the characteristics of nursery school teachers’ recognition of the
necessity and difficulty of child care education were as follows:
1) Nursery school teachers recognized the character of children as having an assertive and
selfishness. 2) Nursery school teachers recognized that children are quick-tempered and their
words and their actions are discordant. 3) Nursery school teachers recognized that children
respond to the care give them by others either actively, perfunctorily, or didn’t respond at all.
4) Nursery school teachers recognized that the shortcoming of care education was coaching
children in problem-solving.
Based on this information, the study suggests that teachers and programs
1) provide specific plans to train children in sympathizing with the point of view of others
and to respond to care given them by another.
2) provide opportunities to exhibit care practice repetitively through care experience
programs.
3) provide teacher education in helping teachers recognize in-depth care concepts.
