The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence competence beliefs, perception of sport ability, and
sport value on achievement goal orientations, and intention of physical education class participation in
elementary school children. The subjects were 368 elementary school children(boys: 182, girls: 186). The scales
used in this study were the ability belief's scale for Koreans designed by Park and Kim(2010), the sport value
scale which made by Park, Kim, and Lee(2010) the goal-orientation scale for Koreans by Kim(2013), and the
intention of physical education classes participation.. For analyzing data, descriptive statistics, ANOVA, and
multiple-regression were conducted. The result of the study showed that first, optimalestimation and
overestimation students showed higher implicit beliefs, inner interesting, achievement goal orientation, and
intention of physical education classes participation than that of underestimation students. The second, implicit
beliefs, perception of sport ability, sport value influenced mastery-approach and performance-approach
achievement goals of students. Third, increase belief, perception of sport ability, inner interesting, importance
of physical education classes, mastery-approach achievement goal, and performance-approach achievement
goals influenced the intention of physical education classes participation of elementary school children.
