이제는 모든 예비교사들에게 논리적인 사고와 논술 능력을 요구하는 시대이다. 이러한 시대적 흐름에 따라 중등교사를 선정하는 임용고사에서도 논술시험이 시행되고 있으며, 예비교사들을 양 성하는 각 대학에서도 전공 교과 논술 강좌를 개설하고 있다. 그러나 지금껏 전공 교과에 대한 논 술 강좌를 운영해보지 못한 많은 교수자들과 학생들은 논술 교육에 큰 어려움에 봉착하고 있다. 이 에 본 연구는 예비 체육교사들을 위한 전공 교과 논술 수업에 대한 고민과 탐색을 시작해보고자 진행되었다. 체육 교과 논술 수업에 대한 하나의 사례 연구로써, 해당 수업의 운영․방법론적 측면 에서 전공 교과 논술 수업을 이해하고, 학생들의 경험을 통해 학습활동과 과제들의 적용 가능성을 탐색해 보고자 하였다. 예비 체육교사들이 경험한 다양한 활동을 살펴보면, 생각을 깨우며 말해보 기로 시작하는 이론 강의를 통해 논술에 대한 기초적인 정보를 이해하고, 우리만의 공간 온라인 카 페에서 교사와 학생 간의 원활한 관계 형성 속에서 서로를 알아가고, 네 생각과 내 생각을 공유하 며 서로의 의견을 공유하고 이해하는 토론과 논쟁 과정을 거친다. 그리고 내 생각을 말하기에서 글 로 풀어내는 글쓰기 논술을 수행하고, 타인과 함께 계획하고 구성하는 그룹발표를 통해 논리와 논 술 수업의 꽃을 피우게 되는 것이다. 이와 같은 다양한 교수학습 활동과 경험에 대한 정보들은 차 후 체육 교과 전공 논술 강좌를 구성하고 운영하는데 있어 기초적인 정보를 제공될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
All pre-service teachers are required to demonstrate logical thought and writing ability to express the focus of their work in today’s society. To decide if they can be a future teacher, the most important and most difficult exam component is an essay test in the national level qualifying test for physical education teacher candidates of secondary schools. Recently, Universities have opened essay and writing classes in their majors for pre-service teachers. However, various professors and students have found challenges in the areas of essay and writing class in their majors because there are no preparatory classes related to these kinds of skill needs so far. The purpose of this study was to explore the need for expanded essay and writing curriculum for physical education majors for pre-service teachers. Thus, this paper is described in terms of the methodological aspects and experience of pre-service teachers in relation to this class. In this class, pre-service teachers listen to lectures which stimulate their thought processes and create opportunities for them to speak their opinions in the class. As a result, they can then understand each other in an online cafe and have opportunity to share their thoughts with each other and to discuss their opinions on particular topics. They organize their thoughts and opinions in the writing and make a group presentation in front of their peers. These activities and experiences create a foundation of basic skills and knowledge which will help professors organize and manage major essay and writing classes.
