목표달성척도는 사회복지실천 관련 교과목에서 실천평가를 위한 도구 정도로만 소 개되고 있을 뿐 이를 활용한 실증적 연구는 극히 부족하다. 본 연구는 목표달성척도 를 학생의 수업참여를 촉진시키고 자기평가를 위한 유용한 도구로 인식하고 사회복 지 교육현장에서 목표달성척도를 적용하고 그 유용성을 탐색하고자 하였다. 연구에 참여한 학생들은 사회복지학과 전공과목인《장애인복지론》을 수강한 학생들로 목표 달성척도를 활용하여 자신의 학습목표를 설정하고 목표의 달성 정도를 주기적으로 평가하였다. 본 연구는 내적타당도의 확보를 위해서 첫째, 실험집단을 비교집단과 비 교하였고 둘째, 동일 교수가 실험집단과 비교집단을 담당하게 하여 교수법에 의한 차이를 제거하였으며 셋째, 자료를 분석할 때 종속변수에 영향을 줄 수도 있는 사전 조사점수를 통제하는 방법을 사용하였다. 목표달성척도의 적용은 부분적으로 긍정적 인 결과를 낳았다. 목표달성척도의 적용은 성적에는 유의미한 영향을 미치지 못하였 으나 장애인에 대한 태도에는 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 이러한 유의미한 영향은 사 전조사점수를 통제한 후에도 유의미하였고, 내용면에서도 실험집단의 학생들이 비교 집단의 학생들보다 장애인에 대해서 덜 부정적인 태도를 가지는 것으로 나타났다.
Goal attainment scaling has been just introduced as one of the evaluation tools in social work practice textbooks. Empirical studies to utilize goal attainment scaling have been scarce. The purpose of this article was to explore the usefulness of the applicability of goal attainment scaling which is a tool to facilitate students' class participation as well as their interest in the class. Undergraduate social work students who took a social work with people with disabilities course during the spring semester of 2012 participated in this study. Using goal attainment scaling, students in the experimental group set up their goals and evaluated the level of goal achievement three times. This study showed that using goal attainment scaling with social work students partially contributed to changing their attitudes toward people with disabilities. Based upon the results, this study provides some suggestions in regard to how to increase possibilities of showing the usefulness of goal attainment scaling both in practice settings as well as educational settings.
