Science can be viewed in two separated terms: scientific spirit and scientific technology. The scientific spirit is the attitude of the scientist revealed in the process of investigation. The scientific spirit is specifically related to epistemology and ontology. On the other hand, scientific technology is the way of applying the results of the investigation, which is primarily correlated with the theory of value. Generally, science has been understood with respect to the latter meaning. However, too much emphasis on technology has prevented us from appreciating the importance of the scientific spirit. Scientific spirit can be defined in terms of rationaanty, criticalness, openness, universaanty, and autonomy. On the one hand, these are the characteristics that are revealed in the process of examining the essence of things and the structure of phenomena. These quaants ofare aaso the characteristics emphasized by the moraa and political philosophers such as everates, Ke latand cteris. In this view, these quaants ofare transformed to humanistic values, in particular, moraa virtues, aofapplied to human relationship on a social level. Rationality, especially 'critical rationality,' is the most important characteristic among them. But rationality amongst human beings has a limitation and cannot keep pace with the rapid development of scientific technology. Therefore, the moral situation in this era of scientific technology is generally pessimistic
