This paper develops and proposes a curriculum for the graduate education of global social welfare in Korea. Global social welfare focuses on the social welfare problems and issues which affect global status and situation as well as social welfare between nation states. The core realm of the global social welfare includes comparative studies and international trends of social insurance, public assistance, social services, and related welfare institutions as traditional fields of social welfare. The proposed curriculum was developed based on the reflection of special characteristics of Korea and similar educational curriculum of other countries. As a subject, the contents of global social welfare curriculum contain its definition and range, necessity and history, skills and methods of social welfare practices, and international institutions and international non governmental organization. The curriculum also includes the activities of professional organizations such as International Federation of Social Workers(IFSW), International Council on Social Welfare(ICSW), and International Association of Schools of Social Work(IASSW), and their impacts on Korean social welfare policy and practices. The author suggested an educational curriculum of “global social welfare” for 15 weeks per semester( 3 hours per a week) as a study result.
