이 글에서는 현재 우리나라에서 주요 평생학습정책의 하나로 시행되고 있는 평 생학습계좌제에 대한 현황과 이 정책이 직면하고 하고 다양한 도전 과제들을 살펴 봄으로써 평생학습계좌제가 나아갈 방향에 대한 제언을 제시한다. 현재 평생학습계 좌제가 직면하고 있는 주요 도전 과제들은 평생학습계좌제를 보다 활성화시키고 안 정적으로 운영, 정착시키기 위한 기본적인 체제 구축 및 관련 제도와의 유연한 연 계를 들 수 있다. 연구자들은 평생학습계좌제의 성공적인 정착을 위하여 다음과 같 은 정책적 노력을 제안한다. 첫째, 평생학습계좌제와 관련하여 국가평생교육진흥원 은 지자체, 학교, 일반 민간 평생교육기관 등과 정보네트워크를 보다 원활하게 할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 평생학습계좌제와 관련제도의 학점인정, 학위취득, 고용시장으로 의 연계, 검정고시제와의 유연한 연계가 필요하다. 셋째, 각 평생교육기관의 평생학 습계좌제 평가인정 학습과정 신청 절차와 기준을 간소화하고 부분적으로 통합할 필 요가 있다.
This paper discusses the overview of Lifelong Learning Account System operated in South Korea and various future challenges. Major challenges include basic infrastructures for activating Lifelong Learning Account System and a flexible link with related systems for the stable operation and settlement of Lifelong Learning Account System. The authors suggest the following efforts for successful settlement of Lifelong Learning Account System. First, National Institute for Lifelong Education should operate the information network more smoothly with local governments, schools, and private lifelong learning institutions in relation to the lifelong learning account system. Second, it is necessary to relate to Lifelong Learning Account System smoothly to the relevant credit accreditation, degree acquisition, employment market, and Geomjeonggosi system(the national qualification exam for high school and university). Finally, it is necessary to simplify and partially integrate the application process and standards of each lifelong learning institute's lifelong learning account system accredited learning programs.
