The purposes of this study were to develop the young children physical activity program on the
basis of brain-based education. Process 1 was a basic stage of preliminary research for the program
development. Theoretical literature of the brain-based education, NURI Curriculum for the 5 years
old, young children physical activities etc. was reviewed. In addition, basic directions for the program
development were established by the specialists council. Process 2 was to design the program and to
draw up the proposal for a model that played a major role in the program development. Specific
criteria for objectives, contents, teaching-learning methods, teacher’s role, educational evaluation were
established, and specific activities were constructed. Process 3 was associated with the preliminary
research for qualifying the program. Circulating system for checking the field application possibility
and problems and for verifying reliability and validity of the research instruments was performed by
the specialists council. Overall, the young children physical activity program on the basis of
brain-based education was effective in the young children learning-related social skills, emotional
stability, and attention. Teachers could improve their brain-based teaching abilities and effective
interaction skills by applying this program in their educational fields.
