본 연구의 목적은 독서교육을 담당하는 사서 및 학부모와 독서교육을 받는 학생들을 대상으로 독서와 독서교육에 대한 인식의 차이를 파악하고, 바람직한 독서교육의 방향을 제시하기 위한 것이다. 학생 118명, 학부모 57명, 사서 127명을 대상으로 설문조사와 심층인터뷰를 통하여 독서와 독서교육에 대한 인식의 차이를 연구한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, ‘책을 읽는 즐거움’을 본질로 하는 독서교육을 진행되어야 한다. 둘째, 학생들의 바람직한 독서 정보 제공과 독서교육은 도서관이 기반이 되어야 한다. 셋째, 독서전문 가인 사서를 위한 계속적, 단계별, 수준별 연수가 실시되어야 한다는 것이다.
This study is aimed to examine the difference of recognition on reading and reading education that librarians and parents in charge of reading education and students who receive reading education feel and suggest desirable direction of reading education. With the results of researching the recognition difference through questionnaire and in-depth interview targeting 118 students, 57 parents, and 127 librarians, researcher would present direction of reading education as follows. First, reading education focusing on ‘joy of reading books’ should be fulfilled. Second, desirable reading information provision and reading education should be based on library. Third, continual, graduated, and level-based training should be implemented for librarians who are reading professionals.
