본 글은 박물관학과의 미래 진로가 밝지만 않다는 우려 속에서 작성되었다 한국은 현재 박 물관의 수가 지속적으로 증가하고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 박물관을 전담하여 일을 하는 학예 연구직에 대 한 필요요건은 그다지 고려하지 않고 있는 듯하다- 이 에 대한 문제를 제기하는 것 이 사실 본 글의 목적 이다, 박물관학과를 졸업하는 인재들은 고급인력이다 그러나 이 들을 고급인력으로 평가하는 기관 은 많지 않다 이런 사정은 박물관학과 졸업생의 출신, 즉 대학교의 전공에 대한 문제와 함께 박물관학과의 교육문제가 뒤엉켜 있기 때문이다 특히 이 들이 박물관에 서 전공자로서 자리잡지 못하고 주변인으로 서성 이 고 있 다는 사실도 이런 사정을 잘 보여주는 것이다. 이 런 현상을 극복하기 위해서 박물관학의 정체성을 어떻게 확보할 것인가, 그리고 이와 관련 한 박물관학과의 기능을 어떻게 부여할 것인가 등에 대 한 고민을 본 글에서 다루었다 특히 박 물관학과의 운영 체계를 보완하거 나, 획기적인 변환을 꾀하지 않고는 살아남기 어렵다는 점을 지적 하였 다 . 그런 변혁 이 있어야만 박물관학과의 존재 가능성을 확보할 수 있을 것이며, 그것 은 동시에 박물관학의 적극적인 실용성을 갖출 수 있게 될 것이다.
I wrote this paper with a bit of worry and concerns on the future of the department of museum studies . Although the number of museums is constantly increasing, it seems like wo1'king conditions of 1'esea1'che1's who work fo 1' museums have attracted little attention as an object of c1'itical observation This paper examines the problem on this matte1' Indeed the graduates from museum study are high-quality human resources howeve1', only little institutes are recognized thei1' qualification. This might be caused by education situation related to confliction between students' majo1' for BA and MA degrees in Museum studies. In light of this, many students who majo1'ed in museum studies have limited 1'o1e as observers in the fie1d of museums In my opinion, we need to answer this question to solve the situation: how we can identify museum studies? In addition. this paper will be examined with the function of the depa1'tment of museum studies at unive1'sities. I will indicate the management system for museum studies which needs to be comp1emented in various aspects and needs to be 1'enovating from the inside. Based on the renovation process. a department of museum studies will maintain its substantiality. and museum studies will be recognized with its positive and p1'actical aspect.
