본 연구는 다문화가정 아버지가 자녀양육의 과정에서 경험하는 어려움과 이를 극복하는 과정에 대해 질적 사례 연구 방법으로 탐구하는 데 목적이 있다. 이에 따라 2012년 8월에 C광역시 D다문화교육중심학교의 다문화가정 지원프로그램에 참여한 가정으로부터 3명의 아버지를 면담하였으며, 그 중에서 연구의 목적에 부 합하는 1명을 대상으로 2013년 1월까지 두 차례 더 만나 자녀양육에 관하여 총 세 번의 심층면담을 진행하였다. 이를 통하여 다문화가정 아버지의 자녀양육 참여동 기, 자녀양육에서 경험하는 어려움, 자녀양육 어려움의 극복 노력, 자녀양육에 대 한 염려와 기대를 인물 사례 형태로 묘사하였다.
The aim of this paper is to explore and understand, using an in-depth interview, a father's child raising experiences in a multicultural family. We selected 1 participant out of 3 recommended multicultural families with whom we conducted three consecutive in-depth interviews between August 2012 and January 2013. As a result, we tried to attain a wholistic understanding of the father’s child raising experiences in a multicultural family. We then described the motivations for their involvement, difficulties, experiences of overcoming these difficulties, expectations and anxieties associated with raising children in a multicultural family.
