본 연구는 어린이집에서 이루어지는 부모면담 형태, 내용 및 필요성, 문제점 및 개선점을 중 심으로 보육교사와 부모의 인식을 살펴보았다. 연구대상은 전북지역 15개 어린이집에 재직 중인 보육교사 400명과 동 기관의 부모 392명이었다. 연구도구는 선행연구에서 사용된 문항 을 수정?보완하여 사용하였으며, SPSS 18.0을 이용하여 기초통계와 χ2 , 독립 t-검증을 실시하 였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모면담 형태의 경우 부모들은 수시로, 편리한 시 간대의 상담을 원하는 반면, 보육교사들은 연 2회 특정 시간대의 상담을 선호하였다. 둘째, 부모면담 내용은 자녀의 어린이집 생활에 대한 정보를 제공받거나 자녀의 어린이집 적응 및 발달, 그리고 자녀문제 상담 등으로 나타났으며 부모면담 만족도가 높은 편이었다. 셋째, 보 육교사와 부모 모두 부모면담의 필요성을 높게 인식하였다. 교사의 과다업무, 부모의 적극적 관심과 참여부족을 부모면담의 문제점으로 인식하였고, 개선책으로 교사의 업무량 감소, 부모 의 관심, 그리고 교사교육의 중요성을 제안하였다. 본 연구결과를 논의하고 향후 방향을 제안 하였다.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the perception of childcare teachers and parents toward the parent counseling in childcare centers. The participants consisted of 400 childcare teachers and 392 parents dwelling in Jeonbuk province. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, χ2 , t-test, using SPSS 18.0 program. The major results of this study are as follows. First, most teachers wanted to counsel parents twice a year, designated time while parent prefer to have the option of counseling whenever they want. Second, The contents of parent counseling were information of children’s life and children’s adaptations in childcare centers, and children’s behavior problems. The level of parents’ satisfaction toward parent counseling appeared to be very high. Third, most teachers and parents believed that the necessity of parent counseling is very high. The main problems of parent counseling were too heavy workload of teachers, the lack of parents’interest and participation. In order to solve these problems, teachers requested the reduction of their workload, parents’interest and retraining program for teachers. Finally, we discussed our results and proposed the future direction for the parent counseling in daycare centers.
