본 연구는 청각을 상실하였다가 인공 와우 수술로 청각을 회복한 중도청각장애인들의 농인(deaf) 으로서의 경험을 근거 이론 연구 방법으로 연구했다. 본 연구에는 인공 와우 수술을 받은 중도청각 장애인 9명이 참여했다. 자료는 일대일 심층면담으로 수집했고 연구 참여자들의 구술 녹음을 전사 하여 원 자료를 구성하였다. 자료는 Strauss 와 Corbin이 제안한 자료 분석 과정과 절차를 거쳤다. 원 자료에 근거하여 분석한 결과, 중도청각장애인들의 상실 경험의 중심현상은 “주저앉음”이었고, 핵심범주는 “어둠과 극한의 세계에서 발견한 존재의 역설과 재구성”으로 도출되었다. 연구 결과를 근거로 중도청각장애인들을 위한 실존프로그램구성, 회복 프로그램에 가족의 참여를 제안했다.
This study analyzed the experience of people who had lost their hearing and recovered with cochlear implantation using grounded theory. To conduct this study, the research conducted in depth interviews with 9 acquired hearing impaired people who has received cochlear implantation. The researcher recorded their narratives ,transcribed and made raw data. Data was analyzed by grounded theory's data analytical process. Based on the raw data, the following results were identified. The core phenomenon of deaf people's experience was " sitting down plump' and the core category of Conditional matrix was " paradox and reconstruction of existence found in the dark and extreme world". Following these results, the researcher suggested that an existential program for these acquired hearing impaired people would be needed and family should be involved in the recovering program for them.
