5C(The Collaboration for the Cross-Cultural Study of Contemporary Career)에서 개발한 주관적 경력성공 측정 도구를 사용하여 한국 근 로자들 260명을 대상으로 조사를 실시하였다.

In the era of globalization and workforce flexibility, “new” career concepts such as protean career, boundaryless career, and kaleidoscope career are constantly emerging. Individuals no longer work in a single organization throughout their lives and they often cross organizational, occupational, and professional boundaries by switching careers and employers. These changes highlight the significance of subjective career success in understanding the modern notion of career success. Building upon the contextual approach on career success ? that individuals’ subjective notion of career success is situated within the cultural boundary of their country, the authors explore how Korean workers view career success using the new measurement of career success developed by 5C (The Collaboration for the Cross-Cultural Study of Contemporary Career). 260 Korean workers participated in the survey and the results indicate that Koreans rely on eleven dimensions when they think of their career success and that their conceptualization of career success is influenced by gender, age, and educational level. Based on these findings, the authors conclude with the theoretical and practical implications of the study.
