In spite of increasing attention to people with disabilities and their human rights, there has been a lack of understanding about domestic violence toward them, in terms of prevalence, severity and/or predictors. Therefore, this study is to elaborate the effect of any specific demographic and disability-related characteristics on domestic violence among people with disabilities especially using intersectionality as a conceptual tool. Using the data from the 2011 National Survey on Persons of Disabilities by Ministry Health and Welfare, logistic regression analysis was utilized with total 5,066 cases who were over 18 and married at the point of survey. The results indicated that a lower age and a higher level of disability were significantly associated with domestic violence. Also, participants with mental disorder, learning disabilities or developmental disabilities, and who had a disability when they got married were more likely to be victimized by domestic violence. Implications for future studies were also discussed.
