Attitudes toward mental illness and mental health patients have been found to influence the services given to the mentally ill by social worker working with them. Therefore, it is important that especially social work students, who may 잭 with this population in the future, will develop positive yet realistic attitudes and opinions. So this study examined changes in attitudes toward mental health patients following mental health practice. Mental health practice has coursework and field work. Thirty nine social work students, participating in mental health practice in Pusan and Kyungnam, were requested to answer the questionnaire three times during the mental health practice. It includes once before course work, once before field work and once after field work. Results showed significant attitudes change. In change after coursework, benvolence, social restrictiveness, mental health ideology improved from beginning. It helped decrease the prejudice. And Implications of these findings are discussed.
