The purpose of this study is to explore the development and application of e-textbook for students with low vision and find the needs of the students according to the different conditions. To accomplish this purpose, we reviewed the literatures, searched the cases, and analysed the demands of the students with low vision after application of e-textbook. E-textbook was developed and applied in the B special school for visual impairments for 2 months. 13 students were taught with e-textbook.
The findings of this study were as followings: First, e-textbook for students with low vision should be developed in consideration of the students\' various conditions, especially their visual functioning. For this, it is needed to assess students\' functional level of vision thoroughly, to find out factors affection their visual performance, and to develop appropriate technology. Second, classroom infrastructure should be considered, including big-size computer monitor placement. Third, the characteristics, strength and weakness of e-textbook should be presented to the students with low vision and their teachers earlier than its application.
