에너지 기후 변화 교육과 융합인재교육(STEAM)이 우리나라 교육현장에서 아주 중요한 주제가 되었지만, 교육의 주체인 초등학교 교사들의 이해와 인식에 대한 연구는 거의 이루어지 지 않았다. 따라서 이 연구의 목적은 초등학교 교사의 에너지 기후 변화 교육과 STEAM 교육에 대한 인식을 조사하는 것이다. 이를 알아보기 위하여 문헌 연구와 선행연구를 통하여 에너지 기후 변화에 대한 내용을 추출하였으며, STEAM 교육에 대한 인식을 알아보기 위해 STEAM 교육 방법과 STEAM 교육 목적 등에 관한 사항을 추출하여 설문지를 개발하였다. 개발한 설문 지를 3개 시도의 초등학교 교사 87명에게 투입하였다. 설문 결과는 빈도 분석 방법으로 처리하 였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째 초등 교사들은 에너지 기후 변화 교육의 필요성에 대하여 잘 인식하고 있었다. 둘째 STEAM 교육이 무엇인지 알지 못했으나 에너지 기후 변화 교육을 함에 있어 융합적 방법이 필요함을 알고 있었다. 셋째 초등 교사들이 생각하고 있는 에너지 기 후 변화 교육을 해야 하는 목적이 STEAM 교육 목적과 일치하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 현장에 있는 교사들에게 STEAM 교육에 대한 꾸준한 홍보, 연수, 또는 여러 가지 프로그램 등이 필요하다고 제언하는 바이다.
Climate change education and STEAM education have been an important issue in the field of education in Korea, but there wasn't a proper study about understanding and awareness of elementary school teacher, who is actually an agent of education. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to understanding of elementary school teacher's about energy and climate change education and STEAM education. We extracted the contents of climate change from advanced studies and literature, and made an questionnaire about methods, purpose and etc of STEAM education, to know about awareness of STEAM education. We carried out a survey to 87 elementary school teachers from 3 different cities, with the questionnaire we have made. The result of the survey was treated by frequency analysis method. The result was like the following; First, elementary school teachers were well aware of the necessity of climate change education. Second, they didn't know what STEAM education is, but knew that the convergent method is needed in climate change education. Third, the purpose of climate change education, which elementary school teachers have thought, was corresponded to the purpose of STEAM education. Thus, we suggest that promoting, training and other programs of STEAM education is necessary to the teachers in the field.
