본 연구는 사범대학 교육이 어떤 의미를 가지는 지에 대해 탐색하고자 하는 연구이다. 이를 위해 최근에 사범대학을 졸업하고 교직에 들어 온 초임교사 6명을 대상으로 그들의 사범대학시절의 경험에 대한 심층면담 연구를 수행하였다. 연구 결과, 그들에게 있어 사범대학에서의 교과내용학 과정은 ‘학자 되기 위한 것 배우기’, 교과교육학 과정은 ‘빈약한 것 배우기’, 교직과목과정은 ‘교육학 이론 배우기’, 교육실습 과정은 ‘수박 겉핥기’, 잠재적 교육과정은 ‘가랑비에 옷젖기’ 과정인 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 현행 사범대학 교육은 교육 목표(지향) 측면에서는 ‘이론중심 패러다임’, 교육 구조 측면에서는 ‘연계성 부족’, 교육 내용 측면에서는 ‘교사 준비 미흡’ 등의 특징이 있음을 논하였다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 사범대학의 이론중심 패러다임의 개선을 위한 구체적인 방안들이 구안되어야 하며, 사범대학 교육 내용을 좀 더 강화시킬 필요가 있고, 사범교육의 표준, 혹은 준거가 시급히 마련되어야 함을 제안하였다.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the meaning of education at the college of education. For that purpose, six teachers were interviewed deeply about their experience of education at the college of education. The results of this research are as followings. Pre-service teachers recognized the subjects of contents as ‘learning course to become a scholar’, the subjects of teaching course as ‘learning scanty something’, the subjects of teaching profession as ‘learning theory of education’, practice teaching as ‘skin-deep’, and hidden curriculum as ‘drops making a flood’. I found some characteristics of education at the college of education from these results as followings: 1) The college of education is based on theory-oriented paradigm. 2) the curriculum of the college of education are broken pieces. 3) The education at the college of education is not to teach at schools. From this study, suggested that we should prepare the program to change the theory oriented paradigm, and we should strenghen the education at the college of education, and we should make the standard of education at the college of education.
