The purpose of the paper was to investigate the gender leadership and transformational leadership
of an elementary school female-principals. Over the past several decades, the study on women and
gender in educational leadership has illuminated masculine myths of the educational leadership and
gender bias in the educational organization. Surely, in view of the results so far achieved, although
the most of the researches didn't attain the clear conclusion of the women principals' leadership
characteristic, they got the common outcome that the women principals generally display less
authoritative, more democratic, and humanistic leadership, and there are significant relationships
between gender leadership and transformational leadership. For the analysis, the collected data from
random-sampled 43 female-principals were analyzed by SPSSWIN program(Ver12.0), and descriptive
statistics, t-test, One-way ANOVA, MANOVA were used. There was a significant difference in
elementary school female-principal's perception of the transformational leadership according to the
level of gender leadership(p<.05). And there were significant differences among sub-variables of the
transformational leadership(p<.05). These results will be having a significant data on the field of
educational leadership by suggesting what is tasks of female leaders in the educational organization.
