This study was to investigate the general students’ experiences through ‘Good
friend activity’ as a peer helper program for the inclusive class students that the
special class students have been placed and what the meaning of their
experiences was through the phenomenological study. In this way, this study was
to suggest the direction of improving the quality of inclusive education in the long
run by presenting a necessary task in the future. For this reason, the data
collection was performed through the in-depth interview as an object of student
participants in the ‘good friend activity’ in ‘A’ high school located in Seoul city. As
a result of coding, there were deduced five components: ‘Various motives of good
friend activity support’, ‘Experiences and thoughts in the participation process of
good friend’, ‘Results from the good friend activity’, ‘Suggestion of improvement
direction toward the good friend activity’, ‘Looking at the possibility of change
after the good friend activity’. As a result of analyzing each component, they
came to participate in that due to various motives. However, it has gradually
changed as positive views and attitudes for the students with special needs in the
activity process. In addition, this study has found out that there were results,
positively affecting the inclusive education like the lasting of the relationship with
friends after the activity.
