The intent of this study is to understand research trends of adult education and compare international and domestic adult education research. The researcher conducted an content analysis of all published research articles to Andragogy Today, Journal of Lifelong Education, and Adult Education Quarterly from 2005 to 2014. Research trends for the previous decade included continued dominance of male, single-author submission from Metropolitan area of Seoul, and academic in Korean adult education field. Also, literature review method and adult learner related research covered high percentage in Korean adult education research. While, research trends for the previous decade were characterized by continued dominance of academic, female, and single-author submission from four Anglophone countries(U.S.A., Canada, UK, Australia) in international adult education field. Also, qualitative
research method and adult learner related research covered high percentage in international adult education research. However, there have been in increasing number of submissions by women, of a qualitative research design, multiple-authors, and on topics of adult learner and teaching and learning in both international and domestic adult education.
