본 논문은 초등학교 6학년생 86명을 대상으로 찬반 논쟁 협동학습(Pro-Con)과 일반적인 토론 학습을 사회수업에 5주 11차시동안 적용하여 보고 이를 일반 강의식 수업집단과 비교하여 그 효과성을 알아보고자 하였다. 본 연구의 주된 관심은 찬반 논쟁 협동학습이었지만 일반 토론학습과의 효과비교에도 관심이 있었다. 연구의 결과는 찬반 논쟁 협동학습과 일반 토론학습 모두 비판적 사고력, 자기 주도적 학습 태도, 사회 교과흥미에서 일반강의식 집단과 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있음을 알수 있었다. 따라서 찬반 논쟁 협동학습과 일반적인 토론 학습 모두 학습의 효과성이 있었으며, 특히 찬반 논쟁 협동학습은 자기주도적 학습태도의 학습기회개방성 부분에서 그리고 일반 토론학습은 교과흥미의 상황적 흥미에서 더 효과적임이 밝혀져 수업에서 이들 수업 방법을 적극 활용하는 것이 필요하다.
The purpose of this study is to suggest pro-con cooperation learning to enhance critical thinking skill, self-directed learning attitudes and subject-specific interests. 86 students, 6th grade students of elementary school were selected as the subject of this study. This study proceeded in the order of pre-test, treatment and post-test. The significance of this study is as follows. First, pro-con cooperation learning and discussion learning are suggested to enhance critical thinking skill. Second, pro-con cooperation learning and discussion learning are suggested to enhance self-directed learning attitudes. Third, pro-con cooperation learning and discussion learning are suggested to enhance subject-specific interests. As a results, pro-con cooperation learning and discussion learning is effective on improving critical thinking skill, self-directed learning attitudes, and subject-specific interests of the children. It tells us that we can have new capability in teaching-learning of elementary school students.
